WISDOM supports parents in their role as primary educators while meeting Alberta Education's requirements. Our support includes facilitators who are certificated teachers as well as home educating parents or who were home educated themselves - facilitators who encourage and provide guidance in navigating the educational adventure.
Come learn about home schooling and about how WISDOM can help your family achieve your unique goals. Our Spring Open Houses and Information Sessions are open to the public. Some events include socials for the whole family, while others are adult-only information sessions.

This event is open to all current WISDOM home schooling families as well as those families who are contemplating home schooling with WISDOM in the future. This is a great opportunity to visit with other home schoolers and members of the WISDOM team and find out more about how WISDOM can serve you best.
WISDOM will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, buns, condiments, and beverages. We will enjoy a meal together as well as have an information time, door prizes, games, and socializing. This event will run rain or shine.
Please bring: Potluck sides, salads and/or desserts to share with the group. (Please note: if you have a highly restrictive diet, feel free to bring your own food if you wish.) There are many activities to enjoy at the facility, but you are welcome to bring other lawn games, board games, or lawn chairs if you would like.

This is a great opportunity to visit with other home schoolers and members of the WISDOM team and find out more about how WISDOM can serve you best.
WISDOM is hosting a farm tour at Chatsworth Farm near Vermilion. Come see all the amazing happenings of life on the farm! Join us for the day to meet the Wasylik family, see where your food comes from, learn more about farming, and enjoy a day out reconnecting with nature. You'll be able to see cattle, sheep, pigs and poultry, including some of the spring/early summer babies; guided garden tours will also be available. WISDOM will be providing snacks and beverages.For more information about Chatsworth Farm, or to see photos of previous farm tours, please visit their website and Instagram account.
Please bring: Your family picnic lunch. There will be a few tables available at the farm, but you'll need to bring your own lawn chairs and picnic blankets. Dress for the farm, with closed-toed shoes, layers, a hat (good for sun AND rain!), and water bottles; you can refill your water bottles at the farm hydrant. Also bring sunscreen, insect repellent, and hand sanitizer. Portapotties are available onsite.Farm products are available for purchase, so you might want to bring some cash and a cooler for farm fresh eggs, beef, lamb, pork, and flour.
Cost: $20 per family (WISDOM will sponsor the remaining cost per family)

Be sure to bring lawn chairs, baseball gloves (if you have any) and bats, and any outdoor game equipment you would like to bring. WISDOM will provide beverages, plates, cutlery, and cups.
